Years ago we had all agreed to meet here. We had no idea that everything would change. How is it that the wildlife has thrived while I must wear protective gear in order to travel through this area? The path we had walked so many times crumbles beneath my feet. I am filled with doubt. What if no one survived? Turning the corner into the lane I see that I am not alone. Tears stream down my face as I run to join the two people I had worried about the most.
