A single leaf fluttered in the drafty ocean wind. Lissa looked longingly at the shore beyond her hometown, wondering fervently what was going on. A loud, chaotic bustle had broken out, and she thought she could see orange fingers of flame. Lissa's older brother Marco lived on the other side of the small ocean.
The leaf whooshed its way to Egor, Marco's town and Lissa's wish. Marco glanced quickly at the golden leaf, not suspecting for even the smallest amount of a second what powerful abilities it contained. It fluttered and flew, daring and ducking into the flames.
Lissa stayed outside until the wind got too violent, even for her.
The next day, Lissa went outside again. She glimpsed a sight that made her gasp. Marco's town was in ruins! Only black, charred ashes of buildings stood, no longer tall and proud. They were memories, memories of the past and the bold.
