about this story

Mama had told me to get my shoes on one day becasue she was gonna take me out somewhere unforgetable. It was a long trip to get there, but well worth the wait. I was overwhelmingly excited to see where we were going, but happy to spend time with my mom.

We had pulled into a half empty parking lot facing the magnificent blue water, looking at where the world curved at the horizon. Listening to the water collide with itself. I turned my head to reveal that the parking lot was the entrance to a long winding trail. Mama and me started the trail looking at the variety of plants; especially a plant that had arms on it going from small to big. We continued just exploreing the forest when all of a sudden mama had stopped frozen in fear. She told me "don't move Nick just walk slowly away." I didn't know what she was talking about till I spotted the leopard laying there, I followed her lead. All fear had struck when we had seen stand up, then I had heard those piercing words "RUN'. It took my mom alot of courage to do what she did for me, and I thank her everyday by sending flowers to her grave. Although I wish I could tell her in person.
