about this story

It was a snowy night; I remember it all. I had been running away from home that night. I was seething mad at my mother, but, to be fair and according to what happened over the next couple days, I didn't know how lucky I really had it.
The next night my mother was supposed to pick me up from my friend's house from a sleepover, but since I "didn't" she forgot about me. Halie let me stay though because she thought my mom couldn't come because of the blizzard. She let me stay for two days, then I escaped.
I had walked for a long time. Days, actually. And now I was caught in the middle of Galway Beach, and it wasn't frozen. I picked up a smooth, black stone and tossed it in. I WISH I WAS AS FAR FROM MY MOM AS I CAN GET.
And the next day, my wish came true. I had arrived at a gigantic mansion with gargoyles and stone statues posing at every level. Suddenly one of the gargoyles, a little girl, snapped in the wind. I shrieked at the top of my lungs as her head rolled around towards my foot. The front door swung open and a middle-aged lady poked her face out.
"Come in."

We had been fighting for weeks. She was pregnant, and my dad had left like three years ago. She hadn't bothered to tell me so I figured it only when she started showing, which was last week. I totally freaked out. I guess that's why she named me Temper. Hopefully #2 isn't "Tantrum". Or "Tatum".

I finally noticed the knocker on the door. It was a skeleton: like a REAL HEAD. I freaked out and picked up the potted plant and chucked it at the woman.
"My name is Skelly."
She calmly ripped her cloak off, revealing ashes. I smiled.
"Mother,"
