Five Card Story: Snow Days

There was a loud, drawn-out squeal of a young girl as she literally leaped out of her house, grinning ear to ear as she spotted what seemed to be frosty goodness along the land. She wore a bright blue sweater on her dainty body and her petite face was covered in what seemed to be aqua face paint. Obviously, she had been playing inside before realizing that school was out and the snow had arrived. "Snow day!" She shouted out in absolute joy, beginning to prance around in the snow. Her brunette locks bounced behind her, sprinkled with snow.
The snow continued to drift down to the ground, causing the countryside and coast to be peppered with frost. Eventually the snow began to snow in much larger amounts, and before long the town was blanketed in the thick snow duvet. Little birds flew upwards to the trees, not interested in this coldness. This small town made it's profits on fish and other sea life, caught from the ocean and exported to various countries around the world. The town itself was nothing special; rather barren and uninteresting when there was no snow. When there was snow, however, the whole area seemed to bustle into a beautiful white wonderland. Most often schools were closed during this time and the fishing stopped for the most part. Winter seemed to be both agonizing and mystical in many respects.
There was a high-pitched bark and before long, a caramel and white pelted puppy barged out of the house, tongue lolling outwards as drool dripped from his mouth into the blanket of white. Floppy ears flicked to and fro as he yipped, a little surprised as the coolness hit him. "C'mon over here, big guy!" Obviously hearing her puppy's yips and yaps, the little girl giggled and toothily smiled, patting her legs to indicate that the puppy could come on over with her. The puppy loped forwards, flicking his paws as the two played in the snow.
