Life is kind of like driving a car. You drive as you look forwards (that being your future). Sometimes you look in your rear view mirror looking for danger (that being your past). But if you keep looking through your rear view mirror you'll crash. If you base your whole life on the past you'll crash. You need to keep looking through the future with occasional glances to the past.
