I need my escapes,
My minute spaces in the world where I can be alone
The woods, the fire escape, the porch, have always been my little havens
I need space to think, to draw, to paint
Street art is good for me but it isn't quite enough,
I'm still bursting with the need for creativity
School tramples the core of my being
Numbers and facts and statistics and even more numbers
It makes me go dizzy, I feel sick to my stomach
Until I get my hands on a camera, a paintbrush, a sketchbook
As I look out the window, the daisies call to me
My finger pads itch to feel the familiar click of the camera
To feel the texture of the petals
To feel the life exuding out of its pores
The light is absolute perfection, if I could just leave...
YES!
The familiar vibration of the bell rings through my soul revitalizing the starving artist in my heart.
