about this story

I often go mountain biking on the hills around Pinerolo. The bike tracks here can be extremely demanding, especially in autumn when they are covered in leaves. Yesterday, as I was cycling down from Pramollo to Villar, I stopped to look at something I had glimpsed underneath a leaf. I lifted the leaf and saw a little wooden man with two goggle eyes on top of its head.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm cycling." I replied, bemused.

"I'm the man of wooden magic. I will change you into a tree and your bike into a flower."

And sure enough, that is what I am today.
