about this story

On the run. Always on the run. I am so tired of running through filthy cities and their even filthier alleys. The best times are when I can hide in the forests, among the trees- among life that isn't trying to take my life. Instead it nourishes me- feeds my soul. But the cities. I have to spend too much time in there, searching for the goddess idol. Six years is a long time. So often I want to give up- more often than not. But I don't. I can't. If I give up without returning the goddess to the temple, well...I can't think about that right now. It's sure to defeat me. I still have a year, and recently I am closer than I ever have been.
I was in Florence, following a tip from The Network. I found the old, green copper sign. "Amendis." This was the best clue yet. A sign imprinted with the ancient word for "change". If I found the goddess, everything would change. If I didn't find the goddess, everything would change.
