about this story

I remember back when water was everywhere. On the way to my house there were several ponds and we even had a fountain in front of our house. The last time it rained was on my seventh birthday, ten years ago. Now there are no beaches, ponds, or grass. Until last year my family did not feel the wrath of this drought because we had our own well, but one night water scavengers came and took our water. Most private homes and farms have had to install video surveillance to ensure that their water is safe. There is no more drinkable water above land, so the government thinks there might be water underground. We all hope and pray an underground lake will be found soon, because the water is also drying up everyone's bank accounts. Our family had to close down the restaurant my great grandfather opened because no one can afford to eat out anymore. The only reason we are still alive is because my father is off drilling for water.
