about this story

Growing up in a rough neighbourhood was one thing... But growing up gay and white in the bronx was another. When I was 6 I remember being cornered by at least 10 of my classmates and being beaten half to death because I looked and acted different. I tried really hard to fit in but no one wanted me. My family rejected me and I had no friends. The only living thing that could stand my presence were spiders. I wanted to be spider man so bad but instead I got teased and got called "flower child." I could go on and on and talk about how my life sucked but instead I'm up here as a speaker and motivator for anyone that feels different and alone. I never want what happened to me happen to my son.
