about this story

Sophia is tired of her life at the orphanage. Ever since she was young, she has been bullied. One day, Sophia decides to run away. She goes to a park near her old house where she used to live with her parents, and there she finds a little boy sitting under a tree. The boy appeared to look sorrowful as he stared across the distance. Sophia decided to approach him, yet he doesn’t react. “Are you alone?”, she asked, he looked up at her but showed no intent to reply. She noticed that that he had a small structure beside him made from twigs and leaves. She picks up a yellow flower beside her and hands it to him. “Do you like flowers?”, he still doesn’t say anything. Sophia leaves and promises to meet the boy after three days next to the tree. For a few weeks, Sophia continues to visit the boy, and every time, she would find him in the exact same position next to the tree. One day, she finds the word “Bryan” written in front of him. As she approaches him, he points at the word indicating that it is his name. Sophia was overjoyed, it was his first time initiating interaction with her. She plays with him, and leaves again. The next day, the boy disappeared, and instead he left an address at his place. She finds out that the address was an abandoned house which was destroyed by a fire three years ago. The son of the owner living there was named Bryan. The girl goes back to the original park where they had met. When she looked closer at the trunk of the tree, she saw small words carved. “Thank you”
