Five Card Story: The Beach Day

about this story
The students were excited to go on the annual field trip to the beach. The third graders had learned about it since starting kindergarten, and they couldn't wait. They piled into the vans in anticipation of what laid in store for them. At the beach, they were amazed at all they could find, especially since none of them had ever left the confines of the city. They learned that in order to preserve the beach for future classes, each of them played a role in maintaining it. Gladly, they engaged in the beach clean-up component of the trip. They couldn't believe some of the trash they found! Once returning to the city, each of the students realized that his life would never be the same, and each knew that it wouldn't be too long before she was listening to the waves and feeling the sand underfoot again.
