Strolling through the old downtown, there were remnants of the restaurants that flourished decades ago. The simple and familiar gathering places for a down-home breakfast or a beer with my buddies. When the politicians starting coming in to gentrify the neighborhood and the real estate values went up, it all changed. Upscale food and restaurants, swanky bars for happy hour. . .I miss the town I grew up in.
