我是一隻快樂的小金魚。雖然一直待在水族店的魚缸裡，但我特別喜歡老闆在我的魚缸旁放置的這盆小白花盆栽。看著它，總不會讓我覺得太無聊。
有一天，店裡來了一個客人，把我買走了。他將我放在他家的魚缸裡。這個新魚缸比水族店裡的要漂亮得多，底部鋪滿了淺色小石頭，還有搖曳的綠色小水草。更重要的是，這魚缸裡不只我一隻魚，這是我魚生中第一位室友。
我看著魚缸對面牆上貼著的照片。一個黃色的碗，還有幾條鬚鬚。我問室友那是什麼，牠回答我，那是跟我們一樣生活在水裡的東西，叫做水母。不過水母是在海洋裡的，不同於我們所處的淡水中。
"海洋?海洋是什麼樣子的?"
"就是跨越兩座城的大橋底下那一大片汪洋呀。"
"哇，好厲害呀！真希望哪天能去海裡看一看！"
"我勸你不要，"室友如是說。"看見窗外在屋頂邊掛著的腳踏車嗎?如果我們淡水魚去到海裡，就像那腳踏車一樣命懸一線啦。"
聽室友一說，我便打消了去海底探險的念頭。
還是老實地待在魚缸裡當一隻快樂的小金魚吧。
