about this story

Jackson had always been a cautious, fearful person. But when he caught himself watching the news, listening loud and clear that the end of the world was approaching and he had no more than 3 days left to live, he decided that he must enjoy until the last second of his lifetime.
Then he was, driving nonstop motivated by the adrenaline of his body. Looking like the daredevil he had transformed into, fearless and audacious, to the house of the girl that he had been loving all his existence. He stopped right in front of the door, and after knocking on the door a few times, there she was. Evelyn was her name. Delicated and beautiful like a spring landscape but an absolute death-defying girl, she had been friends with him since the beginning of their childhood.
Having talked for a few minutes, she accepted his proposal and got into his car. They drove aimlessly for some hours, and even though the ambient may had stayed in peace and quiet, the noise made by their hearts, which felt painful and devasted, was something that words weren’t able to describe. After all, they knew pretty well what their fate was going to be.
But then they arrived. It was their favourite all-time place, where they could spend hours and hours playing and talking, feeling like they didn’t have to concern about anything, the sea. They sat at the seashore, overwhelmed by their thoughts but with some sort of peacefulness that was hard to describe. “I love you” she told him. And then they melt in a kiss, feeling that they needed nothing more but each other’s presence and the sound of waves breaking against the beach in order to feel happy.
