about this story

The leaves were falling. One by one, each telling me that winter was coming, each one dying to the cold air. Mother and I were supposed to go down to the desert to visit my grandparents. We were supposed to leave yesterday, but the car was in the shop, so we had to take a rental. We would stop every five minutes for a snack break, since we didn't bring any food. on one particular stop we found a golf course as we stopped we found a restaurant, considering how much money we had left, we got a basket of fries and left. on our way out, a little dog came out from under the car. After searching for it's owners, we took it with us on the road to the desert. I named the dog Stanley, after my grandfather. on our way out of the golf course parking lot, a golf ball sailed into our windshield shattering it. Mother was covered in glass, but still driving, it wasn't until we ran straight into a tree that I noticed she was unconscious. Mother wasn't breathing, Stanley got scared and ran off. I sat there crying over my mother's body. It wasn't until the next morning, that I realized the distance we got.
