Immanuel Kant is a German philosopher, widely considered to be a central figure of modern philosophy, who argued that fundamental concepts structure human experience, and that reason is the source of morality.
He was brought up in a Pietist household that stressed religion and a literal interpretation of Bible.
Kant is practical, down to earth with strong ideas about right and wrong. He employs decisive and methodical steps on problems solving, without giving up easily.
Immanuel Kant maintained Christian ideals for some time, but struggled to reconcile the faith with his belief in science.
"Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end."
