At the early age, Augustine was became a curious young man, he stole fruits together with his friends, into the backyard of their neighborhood. He said, 'it was not because he was hungry that he commit the crime, but because it's not permitted." 'We live to be a sinners' he said, 'it's the nature of man to seek the truth, to seek the wisdom of god, to seek our purpose together with god.' At the age of 17 he study at Carthage to continue his education, he was a student when he read Cicero's dialogue (now, lost) which he said, it leaves a lasting impression to him, kindle his heart to wisdom. that leads him the path of seeking the truth. That was the beggining of his journey to be a philosopher.
