about this story

I was miles away by the time the police were mobilized to pursue me but the cops in the next town were notified and stopped every car that entered their jurisdiction and put wanted posters on trees. instead of trying to sneak my way through the roadblocks I decided to bash my way through and it worked for the first three but by then word had spread about me so on the fourth road block the police shot my tires. as the car was crashing I grabbed the now dry package and leaped from the car. a kid on his bike broke my fall so I didn't break myself against the asphalt. Then I picked up the bike, dropped a hundred dollar bill on the kid, sayed "for the medical bills" and pedaled away. I made it to a busy bridge and was sandwiched between two squads of police officers.
"Nowhere to go now son" says the serif coming out from the blockade
"I'm no one's son, sir," I sated and leaped off the side of the bridge. now I know your thinking why would you commit suicide and I say sit still and read. After jumping I caught a support beam and sent a rock flying down to the lake the cops rushed to the edge of the bridge just in time to see the splash.
"get a search team down there to collect the body, sergeant stay here and watch the lake for his body" I heard the sheriff say I waited for five minutes as the cops drifted away then I shimmied over to a cat walk under the bridge.
Once I made it there I layed down and took a breath then I recovered and walked down the bridge from the catwalk. I saw my apartment and went into it then I waited until my wife came home. When she did I gave her the package and she opened it inside a pair of pink roses for her.
