It all started at the dock. I had just planned my perfect trip for my summer vacation. Nothing could be better than what I have planned. First I am gonna go to the mountains to watch the sun set. When I got there I was just in time to see it. I got my phone out as quickly as I could and posted it on Instagram. That's one thing off my list. As I prepare for another long car ride I couldn't wait to see Raleigh, North Carolina. It was pretty close to where my mom lives. After I got to Raleigh I couldn't help notice what a beautiful town it is. As I was walking through town I realized I hadn't eaten since lunch yesterday. I looked around for a restaurant that was open this early. I saw a sign in front of the Flying Biscuit Café that said "OPEN". I don't normally eat fruit but this place had some pretty good looking strawberries. I got a pancake with some strawberries and they gave me some extra stuff on the side. I'm not quite sure what they were but I didn't want them. I looked around the café and saw a familiar face looking back at me. It took me a minute but then I realized it was my mom! I haven't seen her in years but she recognized me. She came over to me and pointed at my plate. "I didn't think you ate fruit" she said. After she hugged me and asked what I was doing there, I didn't really know how to tell her happy birthday without crying.
