about this story

I awoke to the scent of pure nature, surprised, yet pleased. I inhaled deeply a few more times to truly appreciate the smells around me. My eyes opened to a grand blue sky, the edge of my vision composed of jungle trees and other plant life. What a beautiful sight to behold, I thought. I sat up, and met face to face with a large green snake sitting before me, bathing in the sun. I usually would've screamed in a situation like this, but I felt safe and relaxed, just as the snake seemed. The snake was a gorgeous light green, speckled with white blotches, making the jaw-dropping landscape even more enjoyable. A sound caught my attention, like the sound of a wave crashing gently against a beach. I stood up and walked through the trees, getting a closer look at what I had woken up to. I finally found the source of the noise, which turned out to be exactly what I thought it was. There I was, standing on a beach with clear, blue water, stretching as far as the eye could see. I once again had a feeling of serenity wash over me, as I watched a brown jellyfish scoot by in the water. How curious, I thought. I stopped to think for a moment. Why am I here? Who am I? Where am I? Many questions formed within my mind, but I knew I was going to find the answers here. Just then, I saw a shimmer from within the trees to my left, gone within an instant. Once again, I pursued my curiosity and started my journey to the sparkle. Not once had I felt so relaxed to be in a foreign area. The flora and the fauna never ceased to amaze, as I traveled through this sacred land. I saw a little reptile scurrying to its home in the rocks, only to find a rock barely larger than him blocking the way. I saw him try and try to move the rock, but to no avail. I reached down to remove the rock, and he surprisingly stood still, as I opened the entrance to his hole. He looked at me, and winked, as if to say thanks, which made me chuckle. Oh, was this a sight to behold. It was then that I saw the source of the sparkle beyond the trees. A round, modern looking building was standing high above the trees, as if it was a beacon for something. I continued my adventure towards the structure, only to find a city surrounding it. I was so confused yet excited. I felt like I was in paradise, yet something didn't seem right. I needed answers, so I went looking in the city.
