about this story

It was a foggy morning, but I knew what I had to do. That day I had a job! Most people don't fall for the nonsense I spew when telling them I can "exorcise" places that they believe are haunted, but when they do I make it real convincing and get paid pretty good for a side job. I felt only happiness while driving to the "haunted" place, apartment 13 with a green door. I arrived and with the key given to me by the customer I open the door and hear a loud creak. The door got stuck halfway while opening it so I pushed against it but ended up just squeezing through. I got inside and turned on my flashlight and had to slam the glass into my palm to make it actually turn on. My first thoughts were that of confusion after seeing the birds scattered throughout the floor, counters, and furniture. They all spontaneously stretched their wings and flew right past me out the cracked open door causing spiderwebs scattered across the ceiling to fall and land on me. I've been known to be fairly brave but this gave me a small heart attack, but I knew I needed to at least clean. I need to do something to make the money spent on me viable. The customer didn't tell me anything about their "ghost" they just said "you'll know it when you see it" like that helps! I didn't get scratched too bad when the rats with wings took off so for a scammer my luck must've been pretty good that day. I started cleaning the apartment and noticed way too late that there is a massive spider network on the ceiling, and spiders are everywhere on it. The birds only took a repairable chunk with them and the eight legged freaks had already mostly reconnected it. I hate spiders. That's because of a few traumatizing experiences when I was a child. I can deal with them, but I definitely hate them. Seeing that spider nest rattled my nerves and I felt the luck I had earlier on just draining. I started doing something real dumb and thought that I should use fire! I obviously wasn't thinking straight. So I'll tell you a secret, spiders totally freak me out! I wanted them dead so much that I just pulled out my lighter which I really shouldn't carry when trying to quit smoking, well it doesn't really matter now. After all, I burned alive in the fire I set and now I'm in some dark place, where I was told I died and that I needed to write how in this dumb book they gave me.
