Dawn on July 8, 2020 - My first day of a new principalship, in an old old building, at new-to-me grade levels, while doing doctoral studies. Did anyone mention a global pandemic?
So many mountains to climb- pivots that felt like rockslides, conversations with unhappy parents/community/teachers that felt like hiking in the desert.
But we came together as a Wildcat family and lit up the dark of Covid with outdoor learning and fun adventures in a caring community.
Sometimes during these last 11 months, I felt run over by a 18 wheeler- but we kept on trucking, innovating and iterating our way to the finish line.
This Wednesday we will cap off this year-that-would-never- end with a 5th grade promotion ceremony.
And then- you will find me at the winery/beach/backpacking~
We did it!
