about this story

Today, I'm going on the longest mountain biking trail in the world. At home I have all the supplies I need for the long journey ahead of me. But first, more about me. I live in a small town named douglas, goopin. I have inherited the family house, a small two story townhome, and my fathers world class mountain bikes. I just recently decided to do something with them, and I have decided to live up to his name. Anyway, now to the part about the bike. It's a 147 mile trail, with rough terrain, uphill slopes, landslides, and rivers all throughout it. Tonight I pack, and tomorrow, I bike. I will need the following: plenty of water, food, hiking boots(in case I have to carry my bike when the terrain is too tough), a tent, sleeping bags, clothes and various other items.

The clock read 6:45 when I woke up the next morning. It's time to start my trek. I strapped my bike to the top of my vehicle, loaded up my supplies, and drove off. The trail head isn't too far from my house, roughly a 45 minute drive. As soon as I had arrived, I knew that I was ready. The crisp mountainous air filled my lungs. All I could see was endless forests in all directions.
By the end of the first stretch, I had already covered 27 miles, which is a record for me. My hands hurt, blistered by the rocks and handlebars. Now for the rest. I eventually had to use the boots, for if i didn't, the bike tires would be shredded to bits due to the sharp rocks.

Day 4. This is beginning to get old. I'm tired, and the water supply is almost halfway done. It's a good thing the trail is easier on the way back. Only one mile left to go. I push through the last stretch, my legs and lungs burning. Finally, I reached the summit. A smile fills my face. I can see as far as my eyes allow. I have finally done it. I have biked the longest trail in the world.
