about this story

I was in the park with my family. It was a sunny afternoon with few clouds. The wind was blowing and leaves were falling off the trees. I ended up falling asleep and when I woke up, no one was around and the sun was starting to set. It was completely silent. I started to freak out when I realized my family may be waiting for me in the car, but that didn’t seem like them. Usually, they would have no problem waking me up. I started to walk towards the parking lot. Once I got to the parking lot no one was there. The cars were abandoned. I got in my car to drive off but I couldn’t find the keys. Then I saw there was a trail. I thought maybe my family went on it. I started walking down the trail covered in fallen leaves and sticks. A bird squawked and I jumped back, catching my breath. As I continued on, I could hear people laughing. At first, I thought it was coming from my right and then from my left. I started walking cluelessly. I ended up losing track of the trail as it got darker. I should be walking back but the voices are miss leading me and I don’t know which way is which. I plugged my ears to block out the sound but it didn’t help. I just kept walking hoping I would make it to a clearing. It felt as if I walked for years. I was trapped in this forest. I finally came to a clearing, but I ended up at a body of water. It looked like a storm was rolling in and then I heard my mom calling my name. My world started to shake and then I woke up to my mom's face. I was asleep the whole time. By far, that is one of the worst nightmares I have ever had. I never want to be alone again.
