about this story

As I'm walking down Avenue Street downtown, I pass a pond, with a large tree sticking right out of the water, with kids swinging and play around the tree, laughing and giggling. I keep walking, passing by the cemetary my mom is buried in. Today is my mom's 2 year-anniversary of passing away. I miss her, I really do. I notice they've put up tiny white flowers around the fence of the cemetary, that seem to be "climbing" up the fence. Thunder booms quietly in the distance, and the clouds are the same shade of grey they always are. Things become "the usual" thunder, pouring rain, gloomy skies, and really no color. You get used to it. When I make it home, the rain is gushing. I'm soaked, so I take off my jacket and hang it up on the rack. I brush my teeth, watch the news for a while, and head to bed, falling asleep to the pounding noise of the rain on the metal roof.
