about this story
Being an aunt had been one of the greatest joys in my life. Each of my nieces and nephews has a special place in my heart. Although I am not crazy about being outdoors for long periods, I have indulged in campfires and embarrassing childhood stories. However, my favorite thing to do is style their hair. I learned how to braid and mimic popular hairstyles at a very early age. I always wanted to be a beautician and own a salon. However, I was encouraged to obtain a college degree, and the rest is history. As I approach the next milestone in my life, I am excited about the unknown adventures and the chance to continue evolving as a woman. Every morning I wake up, I count it as an opportunity to be better than I was yesterday and blaze a trail set for me by my ancestors.
