OK. So when I began this journey into the Ed.D., I was excited and also nervous. There have been evenings when I had to get myself a nice drink and some takeout (still do at times). Also, I was navigating this space of uncertainty. From my own insecurities to things going on outside of my control, I had thoughts of whether I was over my head with this doctoral pursuit. While I contribute to the conversations and the work, I was paddling in some deep waters, trying to keep up with others. After completing the first full year, I was reminded that I do belong. I was reminded of being from Southside Richmond and my upbringing. My family is proud and is pushing for me. Now, even with my quirks and, at times, going down a rabbit hole with my thoughts, I have found the psychological safety that I need to continue, alongside connections within our cohort that I will cherish throughout this journey. Cheers to year 2!
