about this story

We move through life by choosing, not just waiting for sunset—the first sky with the streetlight shows that even in fading light, there’s still enough to guide a choice. The person at dusk is stopping for a moment: stop, look around, pick. Sometimes the path seems blocked, like a big snow drift over the trail, and it’s easy to say, “I can’t do anything.” But that’s not a good way to think—the lines on the runway point straight ahead for a reason: line up, decide, go. When you hit the highway ramps, there are still lanes to choose from; you pick one and stick with it. The point is simple: hard times don’t erase choice—they just mean you need to choose carefully. Waiting too long or refusing to choose is still a choice, and it leaves you in the dark.
