about this story

One day in the Windy City, it was raining cats and dogs. Overall, it had already been a bad day. I felt as if I had been punched in the face a hundred times. I lost my lucky coin in a dirty sewer, my bike got stolen and now its pouring. "What did I do to deserve this?", I ask myself as a bus rushes past and sprays a puddle all over me. Oh well I suppose. I was soaked, such as a fireman sprayed me with the hose. I felt like my walk home took a million years, when somehow I spotted my bike! It was leaned up against a dirty brick wall. I ran over there at the speed of sound, when I hear a voice. I had nowhere to go, whoever the thief was would obviously see me. A city sewer! I climbed down and waited until I could not hear any voices anymore, and in the midst of my hide and seek game with the thief I spied my coin, lodged between the ground and brick that had recently fallen. My day was turning around, I ran over and grabbed it. My dad had given me that coin before he passed away. The voices hushed and I climbed back up the mile long ladder. My bike! I ran over to it and peddled home at a thousand miles per hour.
