The board room was empty. A few chairs were left swiveling from the quick exit their occupants had just made. He should have been more worried about the bleak numbers report he just shared with the group, but as he closed his eyes in a moment of quiet, all he could see & think about was her eyes. Those eyes. Deep & dark. Like the color of oil...the oil he just talked about to the board room. The oil that had been a bad investment. The oil that was the cause of the bleak numbers he was trying to ignore. He'd never seen her face as she always passed him in the street wearing a scarf. That beautiful fabric hugging her face. Textiles....now that would have been a much better investment he thought...
