about this story

I saw two doors before me. They both led to the same place, but which door would I rather go through? It’s a hard decision, and I wish it were simpler. Like when I used to go outside all the time and explore everywhere I could. But that wasn’t what happened. Even then, I didn’t know which way to go. I just followed everyone else, I wasn’t exploring. But it still felt like an adventure. Back to the two doors though. I still don’t know which way to go. I wish someone could make the decision for me. I remember when I didn’t have to choose. I could just sit in the back of the car as we drove by shops. The taffy place was my favorite. For many reasons. All the taffy was so good, and they were fun and bright colors. The perfect thing for a small child. The flowers were even brighter and more colorful than the taffy though. But I didn’t like flowers that much. They were boring and I couldn’t do anything with them. But every once in a while, I would pick one and try to take care of it. Of course, I was young and didn’t know the first thing about plants. But, speaking of boring. As I got older, the world seemed to become less vibrant. Everything was grey and blurry. I looked at the doors. I could go right or left. Maybe right to go with the rules that are placed in hallways or crowded areas. But both doors were for entering, and no one else was around. I finally decided to go left. I’m glad the decision took so long to make. Going down memory lane is always refreshing and I haven’t gone down it in forever. I walked through the door, and was greeted by some of the brightest colors I have seen in years.
