about this story

Summer has finally arrived! I run downstairs to the kitchen where my mom is sitting. "Mom, mom, let's go. I don't want to be late!" I quickly gather all of the things I want to take with me and hop in the car. "Grandma and grandpa here we come," I yell as we start our 7 hour car drive. While I'm laying my head on the window I start to notice something. The flowers have started to bloom! I spot a pink rose bush on the side of the road, and so wish I could get out and pick it. I can only imagine how good it would smell. As we continue to drive I smell something kind of funny. It smells like...dirt! How could such a pretty view of the green fields smell so..so..bad! "Wake up, wake up, we're here," My mom says as she is tapping my shoulder. As I get out of the car, I instantly smell something amazing! It smells so fresh! "Mom, look at all those flowers," I say. It was the most beautiful thing EVER. I had never seen a field of flowers before. All the flowers were different colored, but the ones that stood out the most were the white ones! As we walk in the door I spot a...creature. I didn't know Grandma and Grandpa had a pet monkey, or whatever that thing was! I guess it could sense I was looking at it because it looked at me too. It's big beady eyes stared into my head and was honestly kind of creepy. "Grandma? Grandpa?" I yelled. "They must be outside," Mom suggests. We walk out the back door where there is a beautiful lake. It smells AMAZING, and looks so pretty as the sun shines on it and makes it sparkle! This is going to be a great week I think.
