A bird lay dying in the streets of New York. At the sunset of her life, she looked back on all she had done and thought, "I should like to have gone to Asia." In her final moment, she looked up at a window, behind which sat a cat; and she pitied the cat, for the cat would never know the freedom of flight as she did.
