Wrapped in her royal gown and colors, she descended the palace steps. She elegantly held the dress as instructed by her tons of kingdom royalty managers. Even with how much she despised it, it had to be done for the crown. There were all those people staring back at her, with flashing cameras and fake smiles, it evoked a burning under her skin.
"Princess Keira! What do you have to say about next tuesday's meteor shower?" Why would they ask a simple princess about this? Keira didn't understand why she needed to comment on everything like gospel. The whole practice was tiring. Soon, she felt a gentle hand rest in her own.
"Come on back inside princess, I know you're dying to." Keira's handmaiden whispered. A simple sigh left her lips and her smile felt more genuine. Keira sent an elegant wave back to the people before ascending the stairs once more. When she burst through her bedroom doors, she felt all her anxiety wash away. Her corset loosened, and her heels thrown some place unknown in the room. Keira flopped on the bed and let out a small giggle, contagiously making her handmaiden laugh as well. "What are you gonna do once you have to do that all the time as queen, Keira?" Keira thought it over for no more than a second.
"It doesn't matter, I will enjoy my slight freedoms now." She held her arms and forced her mind away. Like lightning, an idea struck her head. Keira turned over in the bed, reaching for the pristine white drawers next to it. She pulled out a family size bag of Hot Cheetos and immediately dove her whole arm in the bag. "Now this is the life." An almost panicked look came upon the handmaiden's face and they scurried to the hall. They gave a relieved sigh seeing no one was there, and closed the door. Keira laughed as her handmaiden went about the daily duties like watering the flowers and worrying too much.
