about this story

In 1979 John a very experienced diver what jumping off some cliffs into the water. He was on a public cliff with a couple other families that wasn't very high. He spent most of his day there but by the next day he wanted to go higher. He was planing to jump off the highest bridge in his city. John was planning how to get over the tall barbwire fence but he didn't want anyone to see him jump. John decided that he was gonna go late at night when no one was watching. Little did he know that was a big mistake. He started to go to the bridge at 8:30pm. He climbed over the barbwire fence and then was walking on the thin slap of concrete that went along the out side of the bridge. When he got to the middle of the bridge his heart was racing he didn't think that the bridge was that high. But he couldn't go back there was know way to get back over the fence. He jumped, falling fast than ever he smacked the water. The impact knocked the wind out of him he was gasping for air struggling to fight the fast current. He clung on to the concrete pillar trying to regain his breathe. The water ripping him away John lost his grip and was getting carried by the current. He was bobbing up and down struggling to get air. John ended up getting washed up onto some big rocks. The sun was setting and he knew nobody was going to help him. He was freezing cold and had know where to go. He was stuck on some huge rocks with nothing He had to get help somehow. Then he remember that big boats go up and down the water way so that was his only chance. He was exhausted and he fell asleep. In the morning he was woken up to to a giant ship honking the horn at him. He was saved.
