about this story

It was a beautiful fall morning. Sun in the sky, few clouds, and the smell of pine in the air. It was a Friday morning, the weekend is right around the corner. I get out of bed, and head to the kitchen. I make a quick plate of waffles and head off to school. The walk to school was very nice. The light breeze and beautiful blue skies fill the surrounding area. I arrive at school, barely on time, hearing the bell as I walk into school. Of course, because it’s a Friday, the hallways were chaotic as could be. The sounds of kids yelling and laughing fill the air, the aroma of different foods and beverages also filling the air. The smell of the cafeteria preparing food was also lingering. Each class had students loud and quiet, the quiet being very outnumbered. Lunch was chaotic. The lunch line was completely full, kids filing in and out. Each table was packed, with more kids arriving to pull up more chairs to fill them up more. Final hour wasn’t productive, the students were ready to leave. Once the bell rings, hollars fill the hallways. I walk through the halls, trying my best to not run into people or get run into. My friends and I had plans tonight, so we met up at my house and went around town all night. We got to see a beautiful sunset. We stayed out until at least midnight. We go back to my house and stay up even later. The next morning was slow. I didn’t feel quite right, or maybe I just didn’t get enough sleep. My step dad wanted to go on a drive to Breckenridge, a place he works often. He always tells my mom and I how pretty it is. So, he decided to show us. The drive was boring. There weren’t many great sights to see, so I just slept the whole way there. We spent a portion of the day there, then going another 3 hours back home. By the time we got home, I was ready to go to sleep already. When I woke up Sunday morning, I felt very cold. It wasn’t quite right. I look out the window and see that it snowed, there’s at least an inch and a half of snow. Maybe we could get a snow day tomorrow.
