下大雪的下午，我開著車從176號公路的交流道往回家的路走去。到家的時候已經是早上6點了，朋友的車還停在外面的馬路上。我跨過馬路走到他家門前，已經聞到早晨的咖啡跟烤好的吐司散發出的香味，按了門口旁的門鈴，等朋友出來迎接我。他領我進門後問我吃飯了沒，開了一整晚的車當然是還沒吃，所以他讓我去後面的雞舍撿了幾顆蛋，打了蛋，把吐司浸泡進蛋液，幫我做了法式吐司。吃飽喝足的我送了朋友出門上班後，自己走回客房準備補眠，等他回來再一起吃晚餐。
